Short answer: No. A homeowner cannot list directly on REALTOR.ca. REALTOR.ca and the MLS® System are operated for real estate boards and their member brokerages, so only a licensed brokerage can place a listing there. The good news: you do not need a full-service, percentage-commission agent to do it — a flat-fee brokerage will list it for one fee.
Why can't I post it myself?
REALTOR.ca is the public face of the MLS® System, which is a set of databases run by real estate boards for their members. Access to enter listings is limited to member brokerages and their registrants. That is not a List It rule — it is how the MLS® System works across Canada. A private individual can advertise on classified and social-marketplace sites, but not on REALTOR.ca.
So how do I get on REALTOR.ca without a traditional agent?
Through a licensed flat-fee brokerage. You supply the listing details and photos; the brokerage enters the listing on the MLS® System, which flows to REALTOR.ca and out to tens of thousands of REALTOR®, brokerage and partner websites, plus our own three-site network. You keep control of showings and decisions.

Why REALTOR.ca matters
- It is where the large majority of serious Ontario buyers and their agents search.
- Listings there are structured and searchable by price, location and features.
- Being off REALTOR.ca means relying on classified and social sites for visibility.
This is exactly what pure private sale (FSBO) gives up. A flat-fee listing keeps the REALTOR.ca exposure while still letting you run your own sale — see how to sell without a realtor and still get on REALTOR.ca.
What it costs to get on
One flat fee, starting with the Essential MLS® Listing at $549 + HST. Compare the packages on the packages page or start with a free listing.
